Rolling course – Kayak
THIS IS THE COURSE FOR YOU IF YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO ROLL YOUR KAYAK!
You will learn the basics of how to perform a kayak roll and then practice with our experienced instructor. The course is two sessions and includes both theory and practice.
It doesn’t take a lot of strength to roll, it’s a technique that anyone can learn. It’s good if you’ve done some paddling before the course so you know the basics of kayaking. You will probably spend part of the course in the water, think about how easy you get cold and dress accordingly. Even if it’s summer and warm, lying in the water a lot can make you cold. If you want to rent a dry suit to be on the safe side, you can do so from us.
Course objectives
After completing the course, you will hopefully have managed to do your first kayak roll.
You will also have built confidence in tipping your kayak over, making you a safer paddler.
What do I need to bring with me?
- Change of clothes
- Clothes to swim in, wetsuit available to borrow
- Towel
- Nose clip and goggles recommended
Prerequisites
To get the most out of the course and have the best conditions for mastering the roll, we recommend skills equivalent to the green paddle pass, which you can obtain in our intermediate course.
