Kayaking for beginners is our kayak course for those who have never tried paddling before and want to take the first step out on the water. The goal is to have a nice tour on the water while learning the basics of how to handle the kayak, both on land and on the water.
A perfect course for those who have always wanted to but perhaps never really dared to try this fantastic activity!
Course objectives
To have a nice tour on the water and get a first understanding of the parts of the kayak and how to handle it. The course is equivalent to the white paddle pass.
Course Content
- Parts of the kayak
- Lifejacket, sprayskirt, Paddle
- Seating position
- Carrying a kayak (loaded/unloaded)
- Getting in and out of a kayak
- Efficient forward paddling
- How to manouver the kayak with your paddle
- Stopping and reversing
Prerequisites
No prior knowledge is required to participate in kayaking for beginners. The age limit is 18 years, but participants who are 16 years old can participate with parental permission, and 14-year-olds are welcome in the company of a guardian.
